In a recent feature story on the SRF1 news show “10vor10” about the successful vocational integration of refugees in the canton of Grisons, the reporters paid a visit to Debrunner Acifer AG in Landquart. The show spotlighted young Ewaz Ali Azad from Afghanistan, who over the past two years has completed a certificate course of training in logistics at Debrunner Acifer.
Ewaz Ali Azad is a provisionally admitted foreign national who fled from Afghanistan to Pakistan with his family in 2007 at the age of 15 and then came to Switzerland in 2011. With the help of the Grisons integration office, and after attending language courses, he was able to get a start on his career path in 2014 when Debrunner Acifer offered him a training placement. Recently, the young Afghan successfully completed the final exam to earn a Federal Vocational Certificate as Logistics Specialist. Thanks to his excellent performance and great dedication, Azad is eligible for the condensed training course for the next level, the Swiss Certificate of Competence in logistics, and can therefore embark directly on his second year of apprenticeship at Debrunner Acifer AG.
